Aim:
This seminar explores the concept of invention, its key criteria, the process of evaluating inventions, and how to acquire relevant information, while fostering exchange of experiences and best practices among participants and moderators. This seminar will also address the basics of patent licensing in the context of academic technology transfer. It will briefly cover IP rights as assets to be licensed. It will be followed by dissecting a simple exclusive license agreement and a non-exclusive license agreement. Other categories for licensing on patenting IP will be commented as well but will not be the main focus. Target audience are professionals working at universities or in companies who are responsible for evaluating invention disclosures and according working steps and / or contributing to the licensing negotiation process.
